A Little Bad News…. But God Always Uses It For Good

Following God is not always easy. And it’s not always easy to discern where He is leading and what exactly He is doing.

This morning I am once again trying to figure out what God is up to. I went to the surgeon yesterday for him to drain more fluid off of the surgery site. He told me that there is some reason why my tissue isn’t absorbing fluids properly. He told me:

NO WORKOUTS FOR 3-4 WEEKS!! 😰 NOT EVEN FAST WALKING!! 😞

He put me in a wrap and told me if fluid comes back he would put another drain in and inject an antibiotic directly into the cavity....I guess to blast the tissue so it will start absorbing fluids again. (You know how when you’re in the office you don’t think of these questions... it’s not until later 🤦🏼‍♀️)

Anyway.... I’m pondering how God wants to use these circumstances. Like, we live in a fallen world and sometimes hard things just happen. Sometimes we face consequences of our decisions. And sometimes, God is trying to redirect our path to lead us to something new. Usually, I find it’s ALL of the above.

I thought I was free to live life normally but no....it’s going to be a slow paced, no working out, no lifting heavy things, no strenuous anything for about a month. That is actually really hard for me....especially now that we are in a new house. But it’s all good...things could be worse.

Sometimes we have to go into the quiet places...the hidden places... the secret places with God and just sit with Him for awhile so we can hear His heart beat.

We can’t figure it all out. We can’t worry ourselves to death or keep running around in circles asking all the why and how questions. We simply have to surrender and embrace Him. He will provide, He will instruct, and He will comfort in the stillness. And then He will equip us for what’s next.
