Can You Believe I Took These Two Books on My HONEYMOON???
Funny not funny 😄
Can you believe I took these two books on my HONEYMOON??? 😂 “The Complete Works of Oswald Chambers” and my thick Bible that has 4 different versions! Oh, I’m sure my journal went as well. 🙂
When I married Pat, I had just gone through 3 of the toughest years in my life. Divorced, living on my own in Colorado, DESPERATELY seeking God to restore my broken heart and heal my wounded soul. I had fallen more in love with God through those valleys. The darkness of those years made me gravitate and cling to the light.
Boy was it a long process!! It was NOT an overnight healing ❤️🩹. I made myself spend every morning with God reading, journaling, praying, and worshiping. I did that for so long that it became something I looked forward to and God became Someone I loved more and more and more.
I can honestly say that I loved God more than any other person on the planet. God was my source, my comforter, my friend, my healer. God was truly number one in my life and Pat was second. That’s what has kept Pat and me together for so long. I know Pat is not God and it’s impossible for him to give me what only God can give. And vice versa.
Now, I didn’t spend the entire honeymoon studying scriptures and reading Oswald Chambers. Haha 😁 But to this day, my Bible and some kind of book always goes with me on vacation so I can spend time with the Lord.
If you make God your first priority, I believe you will fall head over heals in love with Him, too. We were made for God and we will live happily ever after for all eternity in heaven with Him…as long as we are in a relationship with Him.
Maybe you want to use your Bible app for some morning devotions or find a book called “Jesus Calling” that has a daily short read to get you focused on the Lord. Maybe you can join a Bible study that has homework and you can do your homework for your devotional time with God. Or there is a section in Walmart that has Christian daily devotional books. Find something to keep you plugged into learning and gleaning from the Lord every day.
That’s my advice and I’m sticking to it! 😄
