Embracing God During the Pain

2 POSTS TODAY.
I had a procedure done on Friday. Here are the before and after details and hopefully some encouragement for you to embrace God in your pain.

POST 1

I truly hope this procedure does the trick!!

Today, in addition to getting yet another drain put in because of all the fluid buildup, my surgeon is also injecting a chemical solution to help my damaged tissue “stick together” so it starts functioning normally.

For those wondering what’s going on:

In 2009 I battled breast cancer and have had all breast tissue removed and reconstructed with implants. In January of this year, I noticed pain and swelling in my right side and redness in my right breast. It was an infection that got treated with lots of antibiotics but it never left 100%. So for 6 months I have been taking one antibiotic after another until FINALLY a surgeon realized the implant needed to come out ASAP. He was shocked that this had gone on for so long.

I had emergency surgery to remove the implant and now, 4 weeks later....(or is it 5??? I’ve lost track of time.) I’m still battling fluid buildup. My chest wall muscles are thin and fragile so whenever I work out or strain those muscles, my body tries to repair itself but it can’t absorb fluids properly.

So here I am... waiting to get it all fixed so I can heal up and get back to some sense of “normal.” Prayers definitely appreciated!!

I feel soooo so much better today. Thank you to all who took time to pray and write comments and sent messages.

I woke up thinking of so many people I know who suffer on a daily basis in one way or another. I have friends who are battling sicknesses, some who are healing from wounds, some who live their lives in wheelchairs, some who are medicated for chronic pain, some who battle diseases and other various ailments.

Literally my waking thoughts were: we just don’t know what people go through until we walk a mile in their shoes.

We don’t fully understand or know their fears, their pain, their questions and “what if’s,” or their processes of mental stability. We don’t see their tears behind closed doors or hear their prayers for God to help them.

I am taking some time this morning to make a fresh list of people to pray for. I am going to write names down on a piece of paper and keep that paper by my Bible and journal.

If you are suffering or battling any physical pain or ailment I’d love to add your name to my list.

I know in my life, all of the hurts and pains draw me closer to the Lord. I learn more and more that He is my safe place. When no one else is a able to go into the operating room, Jesus is still there. When no one else is with me when I cry, Jesus sees all the tears. When pain wakes me up in the middle of the night, Jesus hears my whispers for relief.

There are some valleys so low that God is the only One Who goes with us. That’s the way He wants it sometimes....so He can give our thirsty and weary souls *His* comfort during our cries of desperation.

If you suffer, go deeper and farther into the Spirit where you feel God’s presence. Read the promises of God and know He is there with you every moment of every day. He sees you and is ready to help comfort you in your time of need.
