Sometimes it's hard to know if my thoughts are from God or are they from my emotions and brokenness. We spend our lives on earth trying to figure God out and just when we think we know Him and have His ways pegged, He shows us a different viewpoint.

Yes, the thing we went through killed us. It wounded the deepest parts of our souls. It crushed us and we had to call for help from our closest family

There is undoubtedly something so sweet and special about suffering that throws us at the feet of Jesus in desperation. I guess not everyone runs to His feet, but I honestly don’t know where else we can run to find true grace and strength in a time of need.

Do you ever feel like you are drowning in the comparison game looking at what everyone else is doing? It is overwhelming. It’s like swimming in waves that are slapping and crashing you and tossing you around in discouragement.

Pat and I had to tear down the idol of money a long time ago. It jerked us around and literally controlled our emotions. We felt happy when we had a lot and fearful when we had too little.
